Each arc of Wind Breaker presents something new for the fans. While it can be predicted that the series revolves around delinquents and gangs, with brawls taking place randomly, Satori Niiโs creative storytelling adds another layer to these scenes that makes it so magical and unimaginable. Wind Breaker Season 2 is ongoing, and with Season 2 Episode 7’s (overall episode 20) release, the Roppo Ichiza/ Gravel arc has officially commenced.
The Roppo Ichiza/Gravel arc will feature a new journey for Sakura and Furin, with new factions, new characters, fights, and a new narrative taking place. The Roppo Ichiza/Gravel arc is one of the most crucial arcs in Wind Breaker, as it not only features two rival groups, but their ideologies are something to look out for. Some arcs are entertaining, some boring, and others thought-provoking. The upcoming arc falls under the last category.
What Is The Roppo Ichiza/Gravel Arc About?
The Roppo Ichiza/Gravel arc revolves around the two organizations after whom the arc is named. More than all the regular Wind Breaker stuff, the narrative and the story behind it have an emotional touch that will make everyone eagerly concentrate as it unfolds. The arc features Roppo Ichiza, who is a small organization emerging from Keisei Street, which is a red-light area. Like Bofurin, they also believe in helping people. Their main task is to maintain peace by working as bodyguards for girls, taking care of drunk people, getting supplies for stores, and serving as mediators during fights.
They prioritize teamwork over everything, but their most crucial aspect is that when a fight takes place, they do not engage to become the victors. Roppo Ichizaโs main motive is to entertain and be entertained, all while keeping the streets safe. The organization is overly protective of a singer named Shizuka Narita, working at Pub Ougi alongside Tsubakino-chan. The Roppo Ichiza are willing to go to any lengths to keep her safe, especially their leader, Kanji Nakamura, who was ready to fight Sakura, Nirei, and Suo, even without knowing they were the ones who protected her from the thugs.

The other organization, Gravel, was tasked with retrieving Shizuka, and that is when the fight began. Gravel is also a small group hailing from the Sunaba District, making a living through contracted opportunities. Roppo Ichiza is unwilling to brawl unnecessarily and is not power-hungry like KEEL. While it may come as a spoiler to many, both the Roppo Ichiza and Gravel will become allies to Bofurin by the end of the arc.
What Will The Roppo Ichiza Arc Offer To The Wind Breaker Fans?
The Roppo Ichiza/ Gravel arc will see Wind Breaker take a break from all the power struggle gang wars and focus on something meaningful. Furin and Roppo Ichiza used to be enemies and have brawled on several occasions, but with Shizuka at the center, they will discover something new that will help them in their future endeavors. The arc extensively explores that it is not always lust for power that gangs form.
It can also form because of love and protection. It may be a long time coming for the fans to experience something on a mental scale rather than brutal physicality. This arc will not only fulfill that desire but also let them have a palate change so that the story does not feel monotonous. With the arc officially begun, it will be interesting to see how well the anime adapts it.
