Hand-Drawn animation & art style
Before all the technological advancements in the animation industry, every frame of the anime used to be a painting. Every artist and their studios had their unique way of presenting their animation and characters.
Nowadays, CGI models are being regularly and intensively used instead of hand-drawn animation. It might be expensive, but the models can be used again rather than drawing the entire scene or characters again.
It’s not like old legendary animations, like Ghost in the Shell, Akira, or Princess Mononoke, were purely hand-drawn. A certain amount of CG was definitely used by these big studios, but the transitions were kept smooth and fast, so it seemed like they stitched CG deeply with every single frame.
AI and CG might be the future of the industry, but one can never forget the classic action anime like Vampire Hunter D, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, and many more, that have added to the intensity and feeling of the battle, making the experience unforgettable.
