Sakamoto Days wrapped up Season 1 Cour 1, with Cour 2 scheduled to release in July 2025. Even though the anime has only released 11 episodes, it was more than enough to garner a vast and loyal fandom.
Yuto Suzuki’s magnum opus is, without a doubt, a great combination of deadly action with great comedy and absurdity. People really enjoyed Sakamoto Days, but they will have to wait for a few months to see the retired legendary assassin in action again.

Unknown to him, Yor is an assassin, and Anya is telepathic. Thus began their bizarre journey, which has everything, starting with crazy action, comical sequences, weird characters, etc. Spy x Family is a total package for every Sakamoto Days lover.
2. The Fable

Akira Sato acquired the status of a legendary assassin and works under the alias of “Fable.” Six years into his criminal life, the boss of the organized crime syndicate asks him to lead a quiet life in Osaka for a year, as he was attracting too much attention from the authorities. However, there was a condition that he was not allowed to kill anyone during that tenure.
The mission was not as easy as it sounds, as the assassin had made a few enemies in the past years. With multiple murder attempts from the Yakuza, Akira Sato has to constantly outwit them in staying alive and not killing anyone in the process. The tenure of a year is filled with action and laughter, providing an essence resembling Sakamoto Days.
3. The Way of the Househusband

Sakamoto Days and The Way of the Househusband have a lot of uncanny similarities. Like Sakamoto Days, The Way of the Househusband revolves around the legendary “Immortal Dragon” Tatsu, who was a feared individual in the world of gangsters. However, he gave up his Yakuza life and is living in an apartment with his wife.
While the wife goes to work, Tatsu has taken up the role of a househusband and does all the chores. Doing these chores daily has made Tatsu a specialist in all the household work, from cooking, shopping at the supermarket, to keeping the house clean etc. Tatsu is enjoying his life by trying new things that he never had the chance to experience before.
4. Buddy Daddies

Buddy Daddies is another anime that comes from the same genre as Sakamoto Days. It is an original anime, and there is no manga available for Buddy Daddies. The story is about two assassins, Kazuki Kurusu and Rei Suwa, who end up with four-year-old Miri Unasaka after they assassinate her father. Miri thinks Kazuki is his father and starts to follow him.
With their moral conscience restricting them from leaving the little girl behind, they take her to their home and start to raise her as their daughter. The trio’s life takes a drastic turn as Miri turns out to be unpredictable and energetic, making it difficult for the assassin duo to raise her. However, the hardest part is maintaining their daughter’s safety while continuing to work as assassins.
5. Gintama

A samurai trio trying to save feudal Japan from aliens seems to be the weirdest plot of an anime ever. Well, Gintama is exactly it, a weird anime that has everything. The anime delves into making parodies of other popular anime that can make even the hardest person crack up at swordfights.
The samurai trio of Gintama are Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi Shimura, and Kagura, whose journey becomes wilder with each season. While it may not be exactly like Sakamoto Days, it belongs to the same genre and is the longest anime on the list. Gintama is a gem of an anime, but to watch it, an individual might need to know about other popular anime references.
