Rumiko Takahashi’s action-packed rom-com manga Ranma 1/2 received an anime adaptation in 1989 by Studio Deen and it grasped a rating of 7.76 on MyAnimeList. This time, MAPPA has grabbed the challenge of remaking the anime and will take it to new heights.

The shape-shifting martial artists’ anime Ranma 1/2 will air on October 5 at 24:55 JST and it will be available to stream on Netflix immediately after the broadcast.

The 1989 anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s manga Ranma 1/2 aired from Apr 15, 1989, to Sep 25, 1992.
Ranma 1/2 follows the story of martial artist Ranma Saotome. While training in China, Ranma and his father – Genma, accidentally fell into a cursed spring, which turned Ranma into a girl and Genma into a Panda. And now, whenever splashed with cold water, Ranma turns into a girl and vice-versa.
Furthermore, Ranma’s father Genma, made arrangements for his marriage to one of Soun Tendo’s daughters and it’s none other than Akane, who doesn’t see eye to eye with Ranma. Now, Ranma and Akane confront everyone in school, who questions their relationship.
