Atsushi Ohkubo’s Fire Force (Enn Enn Shouboutai) has revealed eight Pillars as of now, but no one knows what the exact requirement is to become a Pillar. While some predict that unlocking Adolla Burst is the key, others believe that there is something more to it. Out of all the Pillars, the Seventh Pillar happens to be a bit different from the rest.
The Seventh Pillar, Sister Sumire Sugita, has been alive for more than a few centuries and seems to be directly chosen by the Evangelist to become a part of its evil plan. Sumire Sugita is not as flashy as the other Pillars, but she makes it up with her knowledge and Ignition Ability that can surprise even the strongest Fire Soldiers.
Who Is Sumire Sugita In Fire Force?
Sumire Sugita is more than 250 years old, and her life began as a businesswoman. However, as the years passed, she was disgusted and disillusioned with humans since Sumire believed that they had no real free will, and all they did was trade between icons of worship according to their fit. After forming a connection with the Evangelist, she agreed to join the antagonist in her plan of causing the Great Cataclysm.
Later, Sumire became a nun at The Holy Sol Temple, and it was here that she met Iris and Hibana. She took a massive role in causing the Spontaneous Human Combustion that ultimately led to the Great Cataclysm. Unfortunately, the Great Cataclysm failed as the Evangelist’s desire to turn the Earth into a burning wasteland was never fulfilled. The incident led to several deaths at the St. Raffles Convent, with Hibana and Iris as the only survivors. Sister Sumire went underground before appearing again almost a decade later.
What Abilities Does Sister Sumire Possess?
Sister Sumire is a Third Generation Pyrokinetic and has unlocked the Adolla Burst. Her Ignition Ability allows her to create vibrations through human reflexes, leading to small bursts, which further lead to heat production. She converts these vibrations into kinetic energy and creates even greater vibrations. Her Ignition Ability can easily destroy objects around her and subdue humans. When boosted by the Adolla Burst, these vibrations can cause massive earthquakes that can shake the very core of Tokyo.
Also, Sumire possesses some kind of immortality as she is the only human to live for more than 250 years, and due to such longevity, she gained extensive knowledge in botany, entomology, and agronomy. She used the knowledge from these fields to slowly progress towards the Great Cataclysm during her days at St. Raffles Convent.
