A sequel to the popular anime A Couple of Cuckoos has been officially announced on Friday, 26 July 2024. A Couple of Cuckoos Season 2 is scheduled to broadcast in 2025. A teaser trailer and art for the second season were released following the announcement. A congratulatory illustration from the original author for the second season has also been released. However, the release date and other information regarding the cast and staff are yet to be announced.
A Couple of Cuckoos (Kakkou no Iinazuke) is an original manga by author Miki Yoshikawa (Story & Art) serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shounen Magazine since January 29, 2020. An anime television series adaptation by studio Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP, directed by Hiroaki Akagi, aired from April 24, 2022, to October 2, 2022, for 24 episodes.

A Couple of Cuckoos Anime Plot
Nagi Umino is a 16-year-old high school student at Meguro River Academy High School. He is serious and introverted, unlike his family who are all extroverted. He learns that he was swapped at the time of his birth and is not the biological child of the parents who raised him.
On his way to meet his biological parents, he meets Erika Amano, a high school and a popular social media star who wants to escape her arranged marriage. She decides to make Nagi her fake boyfriend to escape her marrying her fiancé, only to later discover that her fiancé is Nagi himself. Their families fixed their marriages to restore them to their biological families. They are made to live in a house owned by Erika’s family in the hope of them falling for each other before their graduation, and if not, their families will respect their decisions.
