Attack on Titan’s glorious run came to an end after a decade on November 25, 2023. The anime first premiered in 2013, and since its beginning, engulfed the fans with a great plot that left them hungry for more. Watching Eren Jaeger for the first three seasons gave the fans a different feeling than seeing him in an anti-hero avatar in the final season.
While most fans were shocked to see Eren in such an avatar, he changed himself for the greater good. For most of the plot, Hajime Isayama was praised, but he was criticized for the ending of Attack on Titan. He tried his best till the last moment to tweak the finale a little without causing much deviation from the plot. However, fans can enjoy a refined fan version of the ending, called Attack on Titan: Requiem, inspired by AoT no Requiem. While the story has four parts, Studio ECLYPSE only animated Part 1.
Fans React To Attack on Titan: Requiem
Attack on Titan: Requiem was released on January 17, 2025, on YouTube. Studio ECLYPSE was responsible for the animation. Within just a few hours, the video garnered thousands of views, and praise for this fan-made Doujinshi was on the rise. Many viewers expressed their enjoyment of the video, appreciating the attention to detail and the effort that went into creating the 15-minute-long animation.
One memorable moment that resonated with fans was when Eren remarked, “I saw peace, but I also saw endless devastation.” Fans showed their support on social media, celebrating their love for the project. While the original studio did not create it and it does not relate to the original plot, it may not be remembered in the long run. Nevertheless, it offers an impressive alternate ending and is an entertaining watch for fans of Attack on Titan.
Attack on Titan: Requiem Synopsis
Attack on Titan: Requiem is based on fan-made doujinshi, AoT no Requiem, and the Akatsuki no Requiem theory. It provides an alternate ending to Hajime Isayama’s magnum opus. While keeping all the characters and plot true to its creator, AoT: Requiem aims to show Eren’s side of the story more vividly so that people can understand him better. On top of it, the original ending was criticized, so the alternate ending is something the doujinshi creator made to get a better ending.
Studio ECLYPSE’s Attack on Titan: Requiem video featured adult Eren Jaeger showing the future to a young Eren. The former wanted to provide the founder, Ymir, the thing she needed the most – freedom. He was the first to understand it. However, things were not as easy as they seemed and required a greater sacrifice to be made. At the end of the video, the video creator mentioned an extended version, which will be released later this year. It will feature new opening and ending sequences and original music by Zachary Jackson.
