Just when you thought the Batman anime crossovers couldn’t get any weirder, Warner Bros. went ahead and greenlit Ninja Batman vs. Yakuza League.
The upcoming film is a follow-up to 2018’s delightfully bonkers Batman Ninja, which flung the Dark Knight into feudal Japan to fight demon-possessed warlords. This time, the caped crusader is trading shoguns for mobsters in an all-new time-traveling kung-fu flick.
Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League Cast
The OG Batman voice actor Koichi Yamadera is reprising his role, while the creative team from the first Ninja Batman project is reuniting for more historical high jinks. We’re talking directors, writers, character designers – the whole katana-swinging gang’s getting back together.
Details about other cast members are still sparse. However, WB is teeing up a big promotional push at the Anime Expo in July to kick the hype into high gear. If Batman squaring off against yakuza crime lords doesn’t sell you on this wild premise, just wait until the marketing campaign kicks into full “chichinashi” overdrive.

Isekai’s Latest Insanity
At this point, Warner Bros. is clearly leaning into the weeb-approved isekai angle of stranding DC’s brooding crimefighter in increasingly bizarre alternate universes.
Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League might just go down as peak isekai insanity. Then again, this is the franchise that turned Batman into a cyberpunk Ronin fighter. At this point, nothing is too outlandish for Gotham’s greatest warrior.
