The Seitei War is the most crucial incident in Kagurabachi, and Chihiro Rokuhira’s journey was indirectly influenced by it. Since the beginning of Kagurabachi, it has been mentioned that the Seitei War took place 19 years before the current timeline, with the Enchanted Sword Bearers annihilating the islanders, who belonged to an island southeast of Japan, Shokoku.
While the outlay of the war was simplified, Kagurabachi chapter 72 finally revealed the complete truth behind the incident that led to the Seitei War and how the higher-ups controlled the actual outcome of the war to conceal the greatest blunder in the story.
Seitei War’s Peace Treaty
It has been established that the Seitei War started when the islanders began invasion of Japan. They were portrayed as bloodthirsty individuals with special resistance to the Datenseki. It was war heroes who took the enchanted blades and eradicated every citizen of the island, bringing the war to an end. However, the war was far more complex, beyond what seemed apparent.
With the enchanted blades, the momentum shifted toward the master swordsmen, who entered enemy territory and wreaked havoc. With no escape in sight, the Royal Family, who led the invasion, chose to negotiate a truce. Despite their resistance to Datenseki, they were still humans and understood the best possible outcome.
Seitei War’s Darkest Truth
With the islanders’ surrender, everything was thought to return to normal. However, one of the heroes went berserk and converted the island into a graveyard. Having dealt with corpses for so long, his mentality changed and it led to the eradication of the island. With his unshaken call for war, the enchanted sword responded and led to “Malediction.” The Sword Master and the Sword both awakened their true potential and caused the greatest calamity in human history, which ultimately took 200,000 lives.
To stop the Sword Master from further continuing his rampage, the other five heroes put an end to his tyranny by sealing him away. It was too dangerous and would lead to scandals if the truth was made public. Eternal Contracts of the Sword Bearers

The Eternal Contracts operate in a “master-slave configuration,” linking the sword bearers to a central nucleus. And if the nuclues were to die, the other enchanted blade users would also perish.
