Capcom’s Devil May Cry is a popular video game franchise. With multiple games under its banner, it has become a cult classic for the fandom. The mesmerizing and jaw-dropping adventures of Dante have always been the focal point of the franchise. Danteโs main job is to hunt demons and devils and prevent them from causing destruction.
Devil May Cry was based on a fantasy world in video games, but Adi Shankar has taken the initiative to change that view. After much speculation, it was announced that the critically acclaimed video game franchise would make its animation debut through Netflixโs hands. Having released the second trailer in 2024, Capcomโs Devil May Cry animated series will premiere on Netflix in April 2025.

Dante Is Here To Take Down The Demons
Netflix released the trailer for the Devil May Cry animated series on September 19, 2024. It gave a sneak peek into Danteโs journey. While the video games are based on a fantasy world, the setup of the animated series seems more modern. However, the addition of demons has brought back nostalgic vibes.
The art style seems to be typical Netflix-esque, with the animation being pretty smooth. Danteโs maneuvers were more than enough to hype up the series. The trailer was Dante-centric so it was unclear how many characters will be there in the series. Due to this, only Danteโs voice actor has been confirmed while others are yet to be revealed.
When Was Devil May Cry Animated Series Announced?
Adi Shankar announced in 2018 that the popular video game franchise Devil May Cry would be adapted into an animated series by Netflix. The series will have eight episodes, and Alex Larsen is the writer for the series. Studio Mir is in charge of production. Amidst all the exciting news, fans were shocked to see Reuben Langdon not reprising his role as Dante. Neroโs voice actor, Johnny Yong Bosch, will be giving voice to the demon hunter in the animated series.
When Will Devil May Cry Animated Series Release?
Devil May Cry animated series is scheduled to release on April 3, 2025. With a couple of months left for the Devil May Cry animated series to premiere, fans are pretty excited to see Dante on the big screen. Even though the episode numbers are out, their length has not been revealed. At the moment, everyone is waiting to see which plot the animated series follows – the video game one or a new one.
