The anime world just got one of the best news of 2025 with the announcement of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3. The official YouTube channel of TOHO Animation released the first teaser trailer of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1. Like the previous seasons, Shota Goshozono will be directing the third season. The trailer had several things that amazed the fans, with the most prominent one being its animation. MAPPA’s animation looks different from the past two seasons. It is only a few months’ wait before the season premieres. It is not only the trailer, but the official site of Jujutsu Kaisen also released multiple information on August 31, 2025.
When Will Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: Culling Game Part 1 Release?
The official release date of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Games Part 1 has been revealed. The anime will release on January 8, 2025, in Japan. Crunchyroll will stream the third season like the previous two seasons. The anime will be available to stream on the same day it is released in Japan. The time slot for its release will be announced soon. Season 3 is speculated to return with 24 episodes.
Jujutsu Kaisen Execution: Shibuya Incident x The Culling Games will premiere on December 3, 2025, as part of an IMAX Early Access fan event, followed by its wide release in North American theaters on December 5, 2025. GKIDS will release the movie in North America, in both English and Japanese versions. In Japan, the movie will be released in IMAX as well as regular theatres.
What Will Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Bring?
The Culling Games is one of the longest arcs in Jujutsu Kaisen, and the third season will feature only a portion of it. As per the teaser trailer, it will feature a brutal confrontation between two of Gojo Satoru’s students – Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu. The latter is tasked with getting rid of the former since he is the vessel of Ryumen Sukuna. It mostly highlighted the fighting sequences between the two, but there were glimpses of other characters like Choso, Megumi Fushiguro, Maki Zen’in, Suguru Geto/Kenjaku, Tsukumo, etc., building up the hype for the upcoming season.
Jujutsu Kaisen 5th Anniversary Announcements
A special live stream happened on August 31, 2025, at 8:30 PM JST, featuring Junya Enoki (Yuji Itadori), Yuma Uchida (Megumi Fushiguro), and Asami Sato (Nobara Kugisaki) sharing their experience during the filming of Jujutsu Kaisen. Fans tuned in to the livestream and enjoyed every bit of it. Several information was revealed during the live stream and here is a list of them:
- Jujutsu Kaisen Execution: Shibuya Incident x The Culling Games Begins: Along with the teaser trailer, Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen also announced that a movie will be released before the third season. The movie will feature the Shibuya Incident arc and the first two episodes of the Culling Games arc, and is scheduled to release in Japan on November 7, 2025.
Key visuals of the movie have also been released on August 31, 2025. The movie will have a worldwide theatrical release in stages. The film will be released on December 5, 2025 in North America.,
- JUJUFEST: A new Jujutsu Kaisen website has also been released to commemorate the anime’s 5th Anniversary. JUJUFEST is scheduled to take place in the Fall of 2026.
- Animation Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition: It is scheduled to be held from December 5, 2025, at Ikebukuro Sunshine City to December 29, 2025. Fans will be able to experience the Kaitama/Gama-Break and Shibuya Incident. The exhibition will also be held in other cities, and there are only a limited tickets. While the ticket details are yet to be released, it has launched a new website and a social media page.
- Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade: Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade is a popular mobile game released on November 7, 2024. A trailer has been released for the mobile game, revealing the upcoming story arc of the game, the Cursed Prison Island arc. On September 23, 2025, MAPPA will release an opening video, with Hiroshi Seko overseeing it.
