Yukinobu Tatsuโs Dandadan Episode 4 proved why the show has the potential to become the anime of the year. Ken Takakura and Momo Ayaseโs battle against the Turbo Granny displayed perfected Shonen tropes and showed a mellow side to the antagonist, with which fans could sympathize in Dandadan Episode 4.

The previous episode of Dandadan ended with Momo and Okarun on their way to hunt down Turbo Granny to get his phallus back. As fans anticipated a classic Shonen battle, Science SARU exceeded all expectations with the animation and fight sequences.

Throughout the chase, Science Saru employed a red technicolor filter that shows a gritty aspect of the sequence. In the transformation, bright colors and horizontal rotations as Momo and Okarun fall from the sky.
Jujutsu Kaisen vs Dandadan: Comparing the Animation
Prior to the release of Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen had held the throne for top-tier animation. MAPPA brought out the big guns for Gege Akutamiโs classic, nearly perfecting every aspect of the show. Dispute the show following mundane Shonen tropes, the animation sealed the show to become one of its greatest. The cinematic transformations alongside the meticulous fight scenes are often cited for how great Jujutsu Kaisen is.
Dandadan on the other hand, is a modernized, cleaner version of Jujutsu Kaisen in terms of its animation. While both shows consist of humans battling otherworldly demons, Yukinobu Tatsuโs anime adaptation seals the deal. The attention to detail is employed with several color schemes, and finally, concentrating on the layers of each sequence.
While it is difficult to point out which show is better, Dandadan by far, has shown a polished and more detailed animation by Science SARU as compared to Jujutsu Kaisen.
