The 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards Nominees are out, and Dandadan Season 1 received the most nominations. It has been only a few months since the action and supernatural thriller concluded. Still, the brilliance, magnificence, and popularity in every aspect earned it 22 nominations, with Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End getting 20 nominations. Dandadan had several announcements this past week, including the season 2 release date and crossing 10 million copies in manga sales. On top of it, multiple nominations are like a cherry on top of the cake for the fandom.

Dandadan‘s Quality Content Made It One Of The Very Best
Dandadan Season 1 has received widespread critical acclaim, and for good reason. The storytelling strikes a perfect balance between chaos and emotions, staying true to the original manga. The color palette used in the anime is visually striking and it’s purposeful. Each scene is dipped into hues that reflect the mood and momentum of the narrative.
The comic reliefs are placed carefully to ease the tension without disrupting the flow. All 12 episodes were full of entertainment and carried the essence of Yukinobu Tatsu’s manga. While it faces stiff competition from the likes of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Delicious in Dungeon, and Kaiju No. 8, Dandadan has carved a distinct visual and narrative identity.
The winner of the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards will be announced on May 25, 2025. With the nominees out, the voting lines are open till April 14, 2025. Dandadan fandom will look to recreate what Jujutsu Kaisen did last year, sweeping the award ceremony with tons of awards.
