One of the most popular and worthy franchises in the world is the Pokémon franchise. Since the beginning of the first anime in the mid-1990s, its fanbase has grown exponentially. The Pokémon Company’s marketing strategies helped it garner fans worldwide. The franchise has not limited itself to anime only; it has released several video games, playing cards, and movies over the years.

For the most part, Ash Ketchum was the main focus of the franchise, but with modernization, there have been developments to keep up with the trends. The latest venture of the Pokémon Company involves a new anime called “Dragonite and the Postman.” As the name goes, Dragonite is one of the main leads, along with the protagonist, Hana.

Dragonite and the Postman Will Turn Up The Nostalgia

Every year, February 27 is celebrated as Pokémon Day in commemoration of the release of the franchise’s first video games, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, on the mentioned date in 1996. On February 27, 2025, at 23:00 (JST), the fans will be gifted a new anime called “Dragonite and the Postman” on the official Pokémon YouTube channel. The trailer for the upcoming anime was released on February 20, 2025, on Cinema Today’s YouTube channel.

Fans are excited to see the franchise return with a new type of story. The Kanto Pokémons have always been special to them since they were the first to be introduced in the anime. Dragonite used to be one of the strongest dragon-type Pokémon, and everyone wanted to have it in their collection. The trailer revealed the protagonist, Hana, who, along with Dragonite, will work as a mailman.

CoMix Wave studio is in charge of the animation, and the trailer provided a glimpse of it. They are famous for collaborating with Makoto Shinkai in movies like Suzume, Your Name, Weathering With You, etc. The animation was quite similar to those movies. It was mesmerizing to watch Dragonite flying over the ocean with Hana and CoMix Wave’s detailing was the last piece to the puzzle. The nostalgia will hit hard when it premieres on Pokémon Day.

What Is The Plot of Dragonite and the Postman?

Dragonite and the Postman is about Hana delivering a letter. Hana found a boy named Rio, who had written a letter addressing his father to celebrate his birthday. Unfortunately, the day they got hold of the letter was Rio’s father’s birthday. His father resides and works in Kanto, which is a large area. Now, it is up to Hana and Dragonite to deliver the letter to the right person.

Through the stunning visuals, the story will be more beautiful to watch when it premieres. For a long, the fans have seen Ash and Pikachu’s partnership, and now they will enjoy Hana and Dragonite’s partnership. However, instead of battles, it will be simply magical and adventurous.
