At a special screening to commemorate Kanehito Yamada’s Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End‘s anime first anniversary on 28th September 2024, the production of season 2 was announced. A teaser visual and announcement video featuring Frieren’s voice artist Atsumi Tanezaki has been released. Studio MADHOUSE is in charge of taking us on Frieren’s journey in season 2.
The first season started airing on 29th September 2023, covering chapters 1-60 of the manga with 2 cours (28 eps.), and ended on 22nd March 2024. Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End season 2 will continue from the end of the First Class Mage Exam arc and starts its coverage from chapter 61 of the manga.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is an award-winning fantasy manga series by Kanehito Yamada and art by Tsukasa Abe. It started serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday on 28th April 2020 and has been collected in 13 tankobon volumes as of April 2024.

Kanehito Yamada’s fantasy series Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End follows the journey of Frieren, an elven mage. After defeating the Demon King, Frieren and the hero party disband, each going their separate ways. Due to elves’ lifespan, the passage of time feels different and the bonds fade away easily.
