“Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube” New Anime release set for 2025

‘Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube‘ has received a brand new teaser trailer and visual for its new anime adaptation set to release in 2025. However, the information regarding the cast, animation studio, and release date has not been released yet.

The series is an original work, written by Shou Makura and illustrated by Takeshi Okano. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Shounen Jump (Weekly) from August 24, 1993, to May 11, 1999, becoming one of the best-selling comics of all time with 29 million copies in circulation. The manga spans over 279 chapters, compiled into 31 volumes.

The manga series received a sequel which was published from April 2, 2014 to December 5, 2018, titled ‘Jigoku Sensei Nube Neo‘, spanning over 118 chapters and consolidated into 17 chapters. Another sequel titled ‘Jigoku Sensei Nube S‘ was published from  Aug 3, 2018, to Jun 4, 2021, spanning over 21 chapters and consolidated into 4 volumes.

The series has also inspired three movies, three OVAs, drama, games, and an anime adaptation which was broadcast between April 13, 1996, and August 7, 1997, and had a total of 49 episodes.

To celebrate the new anime adaptation of Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube, the creators also shared a special message for fans.

“I am thrilled that we are getting a new anime adaptation in this Reiwa (modern) era. With the changing times and advancements in digital animation, the setting has been updated, and the students of Class 5-3 have been given a modern update. Please look forward to a completely new look while retaining all the charm of Nube.”

What is ‘Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube’ about?

“Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nūbē” focuses on Meisuke Nueno, also known as Nube, the homeroom teacher of class ‘5-3’ at Dōmori Elementary School. Besides being a teacher, he is also an exorcist who protects his students and Dōmori town from supernatural threats. He has a powerful Oni sealed in his left hand, which he uses to fight evil spirits.

The series focuses on the strange phenomenon that often happens at the school, affecting Nube’s students. Nube uses his demon hand and other exorcism techniques to solve these problems.
