Takopi’s Original Sin (Takopii no Genzai) is scheduled to release on June 28, 2025. Taizan 5’s short manga has got the fandom excited, especially since 2025 has had a great chronicle of anime releases. The manga consists of only 16 chapters, divided into two tankōbon volumes. Every detail regarding the anime has been confirmed, including the voice actors, directors, theme songs, animation studio, etc. Takopi’s Original Sin will uphold several modern-day problems, but the most crucial of all is the problem of bullying. On top of that, it could address the problem of student bullying in Japan, especially since the problem is on an increasing path.

Spreading Happiness Is Not Easy As It Sounds

Takopi is an extra-terrestrial being who traveled to Earth to spread happiness. However, rather than spreading happiness, his life is threatened by the people who are trying to capture him and keep him in captivity. It will be to Takopi’s dislike, but humans rarely care about others when there is a comparison with themselves.

However, the one who does not want to capture Takopi is Shizuka, an emotionally distant girl who is a victim of bullying at school and neglect at home. These two concepts form the base of the anime. Takopi uses everything in his power to make Shizuka laugh and change her gloomy look. Unfortunately, Shizuka has been through a lot, and it will take a lot more to change her.

Shizuka Embodies Thousands Of Students

Shizuka is a school student, and at her age, people are the most carefree, have tons of friends, and are loved by their parents. However, for her, none of these is true. She has been constantly suffering from bullying. Her classmates often vandalize her by destroying her lunch, pushing her, or cutting her school supplies. Then there is Marina, who openly humiliates Shizuka by calling her a liar and destroying the gift Takopi gave her. Taizan 5 has quite cleverly picked up a raging issue through his manga.

Bullying is a worldwide problem, and students seem to be the victims. Studies have shown that bullying can happen through physical, mental, or cyber-bullying. It changes a person’s perspective towards life, and they lose interest in things. The bullies threaten them if they plan to complain to the higher authorities. A shocking fact that has surfaced is that bullying can even happen unconsciously. Teachers might unknowingly punish the victim, or people around them might criticize them without understanding the gravity of the matter. Then there is the case of being ignorant, which is also a crime.

Takopi’s Original Sin Shows Bullying As A Cycle Of Pain

In Takopi’s Original Sin, Shizuka is affected by her surroundings, especially at her school, where she is bullied. But in reality, her tormentor is also suffering from multiple issues. She has insecurities, faces constant pressure from her family, and is under massive expectations. It is like a cycle of pain, which keeps on continuing from one person to another. Somewhere, even the bully is as much a victim as the sufferer. Focusing on different types of trauma, Takopi’s Original Sin’s beautiful yet tragic portrayal of such an issue discards the concept of bullying being one-dimensional.

Takopi’s Original Sin Is A Mirror To The Real World

Takopi’s Original Sin is not just any creation but a mirror of the real world. As shown in the story, Shizuka is emotionally distant, which can lead to several health problems, starting with depression, anxiety, sleeplessness, etc. These things can make people distant from other, leading them to being lonely, which is also a problem in itself. With bullying being active in almost every country, several institutions have taken steps towards preventing it. There are anti-bullying policies and legal bodies that solve problems regarding this matter.

Unfortunately, none of these prevention tactics have been 100% effective, and there are still students like Shizuka, whose worlds are mostly dark and with no one to connect to. How can they be treated? Well, a simple solution is to understand them, understand their conditions, and heal their emotional scars. Rather than implementing things on them, it might be helpful to comfort them and spend time with them. Through Takopi’s Original Sin, Taizan 5 has shown a worldwide problem and also provided its solution. Maybe everyone needs a Takopi to change their gloomy days into a sunny one.
