While One Piece Chapter 1160 is officially scheduled to release on September 14, 2025, the spoilers have been leaked online. One Piece spoilers are always shocking, but few come close to ‘The Davy family being Buccaneers!’ Yes, people might re-read it thinking they are mistaken, but it is the truth.
Rocks D. Xebec, or Davy D. Xebec after One Piece Chapter 1159, married a Buccaneer and together gave birth to Marshall D. Teach. It may sound like a fantasy to the One Piece fandom, especially after witnessing Bartholomew Kuma’s selflessness, but Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard) is also a member of the Buccaneer Clan.
Blackbeard Carries A Unique Bloodline, Making Him Special
One Piece Chapter 1160 spoilers revealed that the Davy family is actually Buccaneers. While people might confuse it with the Davy Clan, the Davy Family is different. For example, Luffy’s family name is Monkey, and Rocks’ family name is Davy, which hints that the latter married a Buccaneer woman. It means that Blackbeard is a half-Buccaneer, belonging to the Davy Clan. For long, it was believed that his bloodline is special, and the latest One Piece spoilers revealed why it is so.
With Blackbeard being a Buccaneer and bearing a “D” in his name, it makes him Government Enemy No. 1, since the former are despised for committing grave crimes, while the latter is believed to belong to the same clan as Joy Boy. It might be one of the reasons why the Yonko is more interested in becoming the King of the World rather than the King of the Pirates, as he wants to change history because both of his parents were part of a bloodline that the World Government wanted to eradicate once.
Can Blackbeard’s Buccaneer Bloodline Explain His Two Devil Fruits?
After the release of the latest spoilers, the One Piece fandom has come up with multiple theories, with most of them centering around ‘Blackbeard has two Devil Fruits due to his Buccaneer bloodline.’ It has been confirmed that Buccaneers are special as they are stronger physically and emotionally compared to a regular person, but it is questionable whether it can grant anyone the ability to use multiple Devil Fruits.
Bartholomew Kuma was shown to have a strong will, which helped him maintain a portion of his consciousness, even after becoming a cyborg and pressing the kill switch. It might be Blackbeard’s will that allowed him to sustain two Devil Fruits at the same time. Unfortunately, this theory will debunk a lot of other theories.
Firstly, there were speculations surrounding Blackbeard having multiple personalities, with the most common theory being Rocks D. Xebec’s consciousness living inside his body. Also, sometimes he portrays himself as a coward, and sometimes as ambitious and fearful, signifying his personality change. However, it still remains a theory.
On the other hand, Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro called him “They” instead of “He”, which does not align with his Buccaneer bloodline theory since nothing of such sort happened with Kuma. Lastly, the Yonko is known to always stay awake, which is also unheard of in the Buccaneer Clan. At the moment, multiple theories are coming up and getting debunked. Until the official confirmation, nothing can be taken for sure.
