Weekly Shonen Jump’s Issue 41 has officially been released, and with it, the first chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo has surfaced. The sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen, JJK Modulo, is co-created by Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki. It takes place 68 years after Jujutsu Kaisen’s conclusion, and follows the story of Tsurugi and Yuka Okkotsu, the grandchildren of Yuta Okkotsu and Maki Zen’in, and an alien, Marulu Val Vol Yelvori, of the Simurian race.
The interesting part of the sequel is that the trio is unique when it comes to their abilities and has specific motives for choosing their desired path. JJK fans will find references to the original plot, especially with the siblings, since they take after their grandparents.
Yuka Okkotsu Aims To Be A Great Jujutsu Sorcerer Like Her Grandfather
From a tender age, Yuka Okkotsu felt a strong connection to her grandfather, Yuta Okkotsu. Her sorcery impressed Yuta, who believed she might become a great Jujutsu Sorcerer one day. Recognizing her potential, Yuta entrusted Yuka with the ring that once bound him to Rika, telling her it would protect her until the day she grew into a great sorcerer. Unfortunately, four years later, when she was 10, Yuta Okkotsu passed away, and the ring was taken from her and given to her brother, Tsurugi Okkotsu. It was a decision made by the Gojo Clan, and everyone had to abide by it.
Fast forward six years, and Yuka became a Jujutsu Sorcerer, brimming with Cursed Energy. She can detect Cursed Energy, use it to enhance her abilities, and fight against other Cursed Energy users. She is a member of the Jujutsu Society and takes on missions that cannot be completed by regular human beings. Yuka uses a Cursed Technique named Savage Jaw Strike, where she makes her fist in the shape of a claw and imbues it with Cursed Energy. Another of her techniques is the Biting Twist, where she fiercely strikes her opponent’s abdomen with her clawed fist multiple times.
Tsurugi Okkotsu Is the Modern Day Maki Zen’in
Similar to his sibling, Tsurugi Okkotsu also had a close relationship with one of her grandparents. However, in his case, it was Maki Zen’in. He was physically quite strong and trained with Maki. Tsurugi and Maki sparred with wooden swords, and the latter could see his potential as a strong Jujutsu Sorcerer. When Tsurugi felt jealous of Yuta giving Yuka the ring, Maki comforted him by saying that he did not need it since he was strong. Throughout his childhood, Tsurugi trained like crazy, lifting weights that others could only fathom, and always exceeding others’ expectations.
Unfortunately, Tsurugi Okkotsu is too similar to Maki Zen’in and cannot use Cursed Energy. He needs to use Cursed Tools to fight against others. He uses the Cursed Tool named Honoyagi (sword), which causes fire from sparks created by the scabbard and guard. Tsurugi’s special technique is called New Shadow Style: Batto Sword Drawing, which can burn any talisman containing Cursed Energy, making it a great tool for fighting Jujutsu Sorcerers of Cursed Spirits. He is also a master of hand-to-hand combat, as he was able to quickly overpower Yuka.
The Jujutsu World Ventures Into Extra-Terrestrial Beings Through Marulu Val Vol Yelvori
Marulu Val Vol Yelvori, also known as Maru, is an alien of the Simurian race. He came on a spaceship named Naunax, with almost 50000 Simurians. Their mission is to gain knowledge about Earth and later invade it. There is speculation that the number of Jujutsu Sorcerers with abilities similar to Satoru Gojo and Yuji Itadori is no longer available. So, the Kyoto Paranormal Security treaty that was signed 68 years ago, after the Culling Games, might prove to be insignificant, exposing Japan to alien invasion. While it is a speculation, the leader of the Simurian sent Maru to Japan to learn about the Jujutsu Sorcerers since their abilities are similar to the Simurians.

Being an alien, Maru is strong and quite compatible with using Cursed Energy. He can locate people through their close ones. He uses the person close to them to bring balance between them and the world. Through the process, he will be able to locate the person who is an equal to them or has similar energy. In addition, he possesses a powerful Third Eye capable of knocking out Jujutsu Sorcerers with just a glance, while also reversing any sorcery cast by them. Thus, it completes the trio that will carry forward the Jujutsu World through JJK Modulo.
