The famous romance anime “Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You” returns on August 1 after 13 long years since the release of its 2nd season.
The original cast is also set to return for the upcoming season. The series will be featuring ‘Et cetera‘ by ‘Imase‘ as the opening theme and available to stream on Netflix from 1st August 2024.
The series is based on the original manga ‘Kimi ni Todoke’ by ‘Karuho Shiina’ (Story & Art), serialized in ‘Bessatsu Margaret’ from August 11, 2005, to November 13, 2017, for a total of 125 chapters compiled in 30 volumes. The first season of the ‘Kimi ni Todoke’ anime adaptation aired from October 7, 2009, to March 31, 2010, for a total of 25 episodes while the second season of the anime streamed from January 12, 2011, to March 30, 2011 for a total of 12 episodes.
The series has also received the “Best Shojo Manga award” at the 32nd Annual Kodansha Manga Awards and was nominated for the first “Manga Taisho Awards” ever held in 2008.

Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You – Plot
The story revolves around “Sawako Kuronuma”, a 15-year-old high school student nicknamed ‘Sadako’, from The Rings series due to her striking resemblance with the character. Due to this resemblance, she is always misunderstood and feared despite her sweet and innocent nature. Always wanting to make friends, she grew admiration for her classmate “Kazehaya” who has a natural ability to draw people’s attention to him with his charismatic and friendly personality which also made him the most popular guy in the class.
Due to all these qualities, Sawako wants to be just like him. Everything changes when both of them come close and start talking, Sawako finds herself changed, starting to talk with people and making friends to doing things she has never done. Sawako was not the only one who was affected after this new friendship, Kazehaya also changed with both developing a mutual affection for each other.
