Netflix’s Devil May Cry was one of the most hyped animated series of 2025, which premiered on April 3, 2025. Devil May Cry is Capcom’s popular video game franchise spanning over two decades, and thanks to the visionary Adi Shankar, people got to see Dante spreading his charm on the screens.
Studio Mir’s animation was nothing short of spectacular. Watching the positive reviews rolling in, the showrunners confirmed that Devil May Cry will return on Netflix with season 2. It has only been a week since the series was released, and it was enough for them to confirm the news on April 10, 2025. However, nothing much has been revealed as of now.
Netflix Brings Back Devil May Cry for Season 2
As soon as the positive reviews from the critics started to kick in, it was speculated that Devil May Cry might return for a second season. The speculation turned out to be true, and Netflix Anime shared a teaser visual of Devil May Cry Season 2 on X (formerly Twitter). They wrote, “Let’s dance. DEVIL MAY CRY is officially coming back for Season 2!” The visual had Dante with “Season 2 Coming Soon” mentioned.

The Devil May Cry franchise has been expanding for some time now, with the anime and manga being new additions. Even though the announcement was made, there is not much information provided with it, except that Adi Shankar will be a part of season 2, also. Since the inception of the franchise, everyone adored Dante and his antics, especially his acrobatic martial arts and the weapons, which align quite well with his style.

What Happened In Devil May Cry Finale?
Netflix’s Devil May Cry finale saw Dante and Lady going up against The White Rabbit, who has both halves of the amulet and the Sword of Sparda. All hope was lost when the antagonist stabbed Dante with the Sword of Sparda and triggered the opening of Hell’s Gate. However, in the nick of time, Lady used the last Demon Bullet to shoot The White Rabbit, making him considerably weaker. Vowing to find his twin brother, Vergil, Dante turns into his Devil Form and massacres The White Rabbit.
Dante faces betrayal from Mary, who injects him with a syringe that subdues his Demonic abilities and later puts him into a deep sleep by William Baines in some secret US Military facility. Elsewhere, Vergil transforms into a powerful demon and pledges loyalty to King Mundus, making sure that something ominous will happen in the future.
