WIT Studio’s upcoming venture, Moonrise, is based on a novel by Tow Ubukata. Scheduled to release on April 10, 2025, on Netflix, the Japanese original net animation will be directed by Masashi Koizuka. However, even before it is released, the producer of the animated series, Ryoma Kawamura, has listed a major issue with Netflix’s promotion.

According to him, Netflix is not promoting Moonrise enough and wants them to do their best to make more people aware of it. Ryoma Kawamura is known for working in Attack on Titan Season 3 and One Piece, and when a person of such stature shows his concern over any issue, it automatically raises eyebrows. The producer even posted on social media regarding his issue.

Ryoma Kawamura Wants More From Netflix

Ryoma Kawamura shared his thoughts on social media about wanting more promotion from Netflix for WIT Studio’s Moonrise. He wrote,

Please do your best to promote it. I can’t do it on my own. Seriously please!!” he added. “It’s still buried deep. Red N Company!! It’s time to show the world your power!

The producer is also trying his best to promote it, but he alone cannot do everything. Netflix has its reach spread globally, and so the streaming platform doing a promotion will help Moonrise gain the much-needed attention it deserves.

What Is Moonrise About?

Moonrise follows the journey of Jack, an Earth Army Investigator, whose family was killed by the rebels living on the Moon. Caught in between a cosmic conflict, he is tasked with uncovering a lunar rebellion and discovering the killers of his family. However, things take an unexpected turn when he reaches the Moon. Jack discovers that poverty is prevailing throughout the Moon as an aftereffect of Earth’s policies. Experiencing it firsthand, Jack’s resolve is challenged.
