One Piece Chapter 1144 was released on March 30, 2025, revealing the start of the battle between the Giants and Holy Knights. The last few chapters have focused on the Giants, particularly Loki being freed by Monkey D. Luffy, the Walrus School and the Library, and the Holy Knights, including Gunko, Sommers, and Killingham. With the latter taking the first initiative to turn Elbaf into a battlefield, One Piece 1144 finally saw the Giants taking up arms against the unknown enemies.
One Piece 1144 Revealed Gunko’s Unique Ritual
Gunko is the first Holy Knight to arrive on Elbaf, along with Figarland Shamrock, and has been experiencing the entire event unfolding in front of her. While she was portrayed as a focused woman, the latest chapter revealed that Gunko has a unique after-meal ritual. When told that it was an after-meal ritual, she corrected him and said that it was just a preference. Gunko revealed that her favorite song is “New World.”
Sommers further questions her whether she dislikes the world she lives in, to which Killingham tells him not to judge others’ preferences. The second half of the Grand Line is known as “New World,” and even though it is a risky place, it opens up a whole new world for the pirates who are willing to go all the way. Speculations have already started surrounding the song “New World,” a song with ancient history that provides hints about JoyBoy.

The Giants Receive Aid Through Scopper Gaban
With the Holy Knights trying to kidnap the children of Elbaf, the giants have come out of their partying mood to solve what is happening to the kids and Elbaf. The chapter revealed that the giants have identified the enemies to have Devil Fruit abilities, and in the last panel it was shown that the left-hand man of Gol D. Roger, Scopper Gaban, has also joined the fight. The upcoming chapter will feature the legendary pirate in action against the enemies.

What Happened In One Piece Chapter 1144?
Franky, Bonney, and Lilith Uncover Elbaf’s Secrets
One Piece 1144 begins with Franky meeting up with Jewelry Bonney and Lilith in one of the oldest and most mysterious buildings in Elbaf. Elsewhere, Saul is trying to stop the sleepwalking children, only to get hurt by Sommers’ Devil Fruit abilities, and the entire island is attacked by imaginary creatures that the children are afraid of. Starting with Draugr, Fenrir, to Ghosts, none of them were easy to take down. Dorry and Broggy joined the fight and used Hakoku Sovereignty to defeat the creatures. With the latest chapter igniting the spark of the Elbaf arc, the upcoming chapters will see an all-out war between the two groups, with Straw Hats taking the side of the Giants.
