In the last episode of One Piece(1115), we went on a roller coaster of major fight scenes like Kuzan’s fight with Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp, a flashback on how Kuzan became a member of Blackbeard pirates, and how Bepo saved Trafalgar Law by transforming into a Sulong. I hope we see the Kuzan vs Garp fight continuing but the preview of One Piece episode 1116 focuses on Emperor Buggy’s abandoned ambition of becoming the King of Pirates 24 years ago and hence One Piece episode 1116 is titled – Let’s Go Get It! Buggy’s Big Declaration.
And and and… to our surprise, we will see Revolutionary Army’s Sabo in episode 1116 voiced by a new artist according to the recent One Piece X announcement.
One Piece Episode 1116 Release Date, Time & Where to Watch
One Piece Episode 1116 will be released on the 18th of August 2024 (Sunday) at 09:30 am (JST). It will stream on Crunchyroll soon after it is aired in Japan.
One Piece Episode 1116 – Sabo’s Voice Actor
The official One Piece X (formerly Twitter) account announced Sabo’s voice actor Toru Furuya is being replaced by Miyu Irino. He will start voicing the character starting episode 1116, which will air on Sunday, August 18. Miyu Irino is famous for voicing many popular characters, including Cyno in Genshin Impact, Ritsu Kageyama in Mob Psycho 100, Shoya Ishida in A Silent Voice, Sugawara in Haikyu!!, Yuichiro Hyakuya in Seraph of the End, Haku in Spirited Away, Jinta Yadomi in Anohana, etc.
The decision was made after voice actor Toru Furuya, who used to voice Sabo in One Piece and Toru Amuro in Detective Conan, stepped down from these roles in June. This happened after Furuya admitted to having an affair with a fan which the Weekly Bunshun magazine reported in May.
Furuya is a legendary voice actor famous for voicing many anime characters, like Tuxedo Mask in “Sailor Moon,” Yamcha in “Dragon Ball,” Hyลซma Hoshii in “Star of the Giants,” Amuro Ray in “Mobile Suit Gundam,” Kyลsuke Kasuga in “Kimagure Orange Road,” and Pegasus Seiya in “Saint Seiya.” In 2012, he became more popular when he voiced Amuro in “Detective Conan.”
About One Piece
One Piece anime series by Toei Animation was released on Oct 20, 1999, and it continues with around 1115 episodes. The anime is based on the original Japanese manga One Piece by Eiichiro Oda (Story & Illustration). The manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s Shounen Jump Weekly since July 22, 1997, and has been compiled into 109 volumes till now (continues).
