This episode starts off with Rafal burning his research papers before his father makes an entrance. However, Potocki sniffs out the remains of said burned paper and sees what his son is up to. Rafal runs into former mercenary inquisitor Nowak who confronts him about his ideas against theology.
Although Potocki convinces Nowak and clears misunderstandings of his son’s alleged wrongdoings, Rafal is arrested the very next day. Due to his attempts to prove Heliocentrism, he is thrown in prison, where he will be tortured. Nowak convinces Rafal to pledge allegiance to the church and recant.
During his trial, Rafal tears the agreement paper and claims his loyalty toward Heliocentrism. When Nowak confronts him about it in prison, he claims Nowak is afraid of the ‘truth.’ He later drops a bombshell on the former mercenary about the poison Rafal had consumed.
What Happened to Rafal’s Research On Heliocentrism?
The climax of Episode 3 showcases two men who scour through a forest looking for something. One witnessed donning Rafal and Hubert’s chain, displaying his supposed belief in Heliocentrism. This incident takes place 10 years after Rafal’s suicide, where the aforementioned ‘truth’ still seems to prevail with his research.

Orb: On The Movements Of The Earth Episode 4 will be released on Oct. 19, 4:15 a.m. The next episode might reveal the person who carries the mantle of Heliocentric beliefs left behind by Rafal.
