However, this list will focus on the characters already revealed in Marvel’s live-action films and series.
5. Thor Odinson
As one of the most powerful Avengers, Thor’s ranking fifth among the MCU’s most powerful characters will undoubtedly provoke discussion. However, the reality is that Marvel’s world has grown since the superheroes first came together in 2012. As an Asgardian, Thor has enormous strength, extraordinary speed, and excellent healing skills. Still, he would struggle to match the jaw-dropping abilities of the other Marvel characters on this list. But don’t worry, Thor fans, as the God of Thunder wields Mjolnir and Stormbreaker, increasing his might for future projects.
4. Thanos – The Mad Titan
Fans have always viewed Thanos as the MCU’s most powerful figure, especially with his fully constructed Infinity Gauntlet. But, make no mistake, he demonstrated great strength even without the stones when he defeated the Hulk in a fistfight, followed by shocking triumphs over Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man. Armed with all six stones, he could reverse time, modify reality, teleport immediately, and throw planets at his enemies, making him nearly unstoppable. It took a massive sacrifice from Tony Stark to defeat the mad Titan.
3. Captain Marvel – Carol Danvers
Regardless of differing opinions, Captain Marvel is one of the most strong characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Tesseract granted her unrestricted power over cosmic energy, and a Kree blood transfusion boosted her skills further. Captain Marvel is often kept off-world since her presence would interfere with most villains’ narratives. A testament to her strength was her effortlessly soaring through Thanos’ army in Endgame, reclaiming control for the Avengers. Like a superhero, she struggles with the problem of distance—soaring across the universe demands patience.
2. Kang The Conqueror
Kang the Conqueror, the time-traveling multiversal King, lives up to his name by using every resource and superior technology from the future to conquer as many universes as possible. While Kang’s destiny in the MCU remains unknown, his mastery of time travel and the fearsome Council of Kangs cannot be questioned. He makes his major entry in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, exposing his variants’ foreboding history and future dangers. Kang’s superior energy-based weaponry and armor provide him with one-of-a-kind power that can equal any cosmic being that comes his way. However, since the studio tossed Jonathan Majors, the next Avengers film, Avengers: Doomsday, will not star Kang.
1. Wanda Maximoff – Scarlet Witch
The MCU often features characters that don’t quite live up to their comic book counterparts. Wanda’s début in Age of Ultron demonstrated her remarkable skills, but the lack of Chaos Magic made her less powerful than Thor or Hulk. However, long-time fans have long predicted Wanda to become the MCU’s most powerful character. Following her transformation into WandaVision, the Scarlet Witch, her story took a thrilling turn as her powers unfolded sinisterly.
Wanda can read minds, alter thoughts, move things, shatter barriers, and bring creations to life. In Endgame, she had a chance to kill Thanos immediately, but he dodged her attack. While she appeared to have died in the last Doctor Strange film, fans can rest assured Marvel will bring her back in future projects.
