Dr. Vegapunk is a genius, and all his statements have evidence to back them up. The revelations have been long coming, and watching the Gorosei grow anxious, it was clear they did not like it. Here are all the major revelations from Dr. Vegapunk’s broadcast that took place on Egghead Island and was shown all over the world.

1. Rising Sea Level

Dr. Vegapunk mentioned that the sea level has been on a constant rise, which will lead to the islands getting submerged. Recently, the sea rose by one meter, and several towns became uninhabitable, and beaches were destroyed. In the future, a massive earthquake will take place, which will make the sea level rise faster. However, he concluded his statement saying that none of these calamities are natural but man-made.

2. Void Century

Dr. Vegapunk claimed that there is a void in history. Between 900 years ago and 800 years ago, no information is available. The gap is called Void Century, and the World Government purposely erased the history for that period. The only way to learn about the Void Century is through the Poneglyphs that are scattered all over the world. Thanks to the research by the Ohara scholars, Vegapunks gained a few insights about the Void Century.

Through the research, Dr. Vegapunk learned that there used to be a scientifically advanced kingdom 900 years ago. They possessed advanced scientific gadgets and weapons that made it impossible to replicate them. The advanced kingdom had an individual named Joyboy, whose body had the properties of rubber. Joyboy was the first pirate ever and had a significantly strong crew.

However, his ideals were different from the others. As a result, 20 Kingdoms joined forces to take him on. Presently, the 20 Kingdoms are regarded as the founding families of the World Government. More than a fight for survival, it was a clash of ideals that unfolded on the battlefield.

4. Ongoing War And Sunken Continents

Dr. Vegapunk mentioned that the war that took place during the Void Century is still ongoing in the shadows. The Ancient Weapons (Uranus, Poseidon, and Pluton) are still active and are responsible for the rising of the sea level.

Since the Void Century, the sea level has risen by 200 meters, with most of the large continents getting submerged below the sea level. The ones that are visible are only the tip of the continents that are still above the sea. (Note: Water 7 is constantly being submerged by the rising sea level, and the Wano Country used to be much larger, as shown by Kozuki Sukiyaki to Nico Robin.)

Since the scientifically advanced kingdom during the Void Century piqued Dr. Vegapunk’s curiosity, he spent several years of his life trying to create an eternal source of energy. It led to the creation of the Mother Flame. However, Dr. Vegapunk considers it one of his gravest sins.
