After the recent success of the most talked-about Fall 2024 series, Dandadan, Studio Science SARU is coming with another action series, SANDA. The previously announced anime adaptation released its first teaser PV and a new visual along with the Fall 2025 release window. Moreover, details regarding the cast and anime staff were revealed.
SANDA is a manga series with story and art by Paru Itagaki (Beastars). It started serialization in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion on July 21, 2021, and ended its run on July 11, 2024. The anime adaptation was announced on the day the manga ended.
I wanted to draw a manga where the characters move dramatically! Thatโs why I started this manga.

What is the story of SANDA?
SANDA follows the story of second-year junior high school student Sanda Kazushige. After being stabbed by his classmate, Shiori Fuyumura, Sanda’s curse is released, and he transforms into Santa Claus. It is set in Japan in 2080, where the birth rate is declining, and young people have a higher social status than adults.
