Yukinobu Tatsuโs Dandadan is said to be peak Shonen, with their 4th Episode recently published. By the standards of gorgeous animation, a captivating soundtrack, and digestible pacing, Dandadan has singlehandedly proven to put Science SARU on the map. Letโs take a look at how the currently-airing Dandadan has elevated the production and its upcoming projects.

Science SARU’s Dandadan Is Already Peak Fiction According To Shonen Fans
Unapologetically covering every Shonen trope, Dandadan is a tough contender for anime of the year 2024. The journey of Ken Takakura and Momo Ayase in fighting transcendental beings has already reached a point of high praise from fans. The show, animated by Science SARU has incredible animation. The soundtrack that supplements action and emotional sequences is a fan favorite.

The opening song Otonoke by Creepy Nuts has become a household name with its experimental and unorthodox hip-hop theme. Although the show is far from complete, the highly entertaining Dandadan is one of Shonenโs most unique experiences in terms of its methodical approach to production utilized by studio Science SARU.
Science SARU – Life After Dandadan
Before the release of Dandadan, Science SARU was a relatively popular production house amongst anime fans. Their most established and well-received show Devilman Crybaby debuted on Jan. 5, 2018, and is considered one of the best reboots ever. With several projects like Japan Sinks: 2020 and Heike Monogatari, Science SARU is nowhere near its peak with its future endeavors.
Sanda

Studio Science SARU also takes up the author of the anthropomorphic hit Beastars, Paru Itagakiโs Sanda. Starting its serialization on Jul.21, 2021, Sanda Kazushigeโs journey also began. After being stabbed by his classmate, he finds out that he is the descendant of Santa Claus. Although there are no specific dates for release to the public as of yet, Science SARUโs visual teaser hints that the show is going to be an instant classic.
I wanted to draw a manga where the characters move dramatically! That’s why I started this manga.
That’s why I’m happy that it’s been made into an anime!
I’m grateful to my readers and Science SARU.

Ghost In The Shell

Fans were delighted when Science Saru announced a reboot for the evergreen Ghost In The Shell. The original movie which was released in 1995 received positive reception from fans. However, with shows like Dandadan, Science SARU is expected to refurbish Masamune Shirowโs classic into a modern masterpiece. The upcoming remake is expected to be released in 2026, and fans are making their bets on what Science SARU could bring to the table.
