Shangri-La Frontier Season 3 finale aired on March 30, 2025, and a few moments after its release, the showrunners confirmed that the anime will return with Season 3. Season 2 began airing on October 13, 2024, and like season 1, it was scheduled to have 25 episodes. There was speculation surrounding the anime coming back with a third season, but nothing was known for sure. However, when everyone was grief-stricken with the season 2 finale, it was announced that the anime would return in the future. Along with the announcement, a special visual was also released.
New Visual of Shangri-La Frontier Season 3 Released
With the announcement of Shangri-La Frontier Season 3, a cheeky visual has also been released featuring the key players of the video game of the same name as the anime. With half-torn clothes blown off by Lycagon’s Night Attack Curse and a black bow, Sunraku sits on a chair in the middle like a king, with other characters surrounding him.
While he is trying to portray himself as a cool character, it is making him look more perverted. The character list includes Towa “Arthur Pencilgon” Amane, Rust, Mordo, Emul, Akane Akitsu, Psyger-0, Ceecrue, and Oikatzo, all in black suits and smiling.
How Did Shangri-La Frontier Season 2 Finale End?
The Global Games Competition required the protagonist to register on the company’s website, and so he and Arthur registered as No Name and No Face. With Katzo joining the GGC later due to participating in the War Hounds Championship, a problem arose for the group.
Katzo was about to return by the Fourth Round and face Sylvia Goldberg, the number one American player, but with the latter coming up in the Third Round, Katzo had to wrap up the War Hounds Championship in 2 hours instead of 3. Sylvia was quick to notice Kei not being present, but Rakura stalled by saying he was in the bathroom. Shangri-La Frontier Season 2 concluded with a cliffhanger featuring Rakuro learning he has only 95 hours to defeat Ctarnidd.
What To Expect From Shangri-La Frontier Season 3?
Shangri-La Frontier Season 3 will continue the GGC Arc, which commenced from Season 2 Episode 21. The eighth arc of the story is an exciting chapter with the protagonist going up against the top player in America. Expectations are high for the upcoming season, especially after how the narrative had improved when compared to the first season.
The story building felt natural, and it felt a bit slow at times, it did not fail to pick up the pace when required. So, with season 2 providing a better performance than season 1, Shangri-La Frontier Season 3 is expected to increase the fun and excitement upon its release. As for the release date of season 3, there has been no official mention of it. But there have been speculations about season 3 following the footsteps of two previous seasons and airing in October 2025.
