Cha Hae-In and Jinwoo’s first meeting

The first meeting between Cha Hae-In and Jinwoo was not romantic but rather under tense situations. After receiving his leveling powers from the Double Dungeon, Jinwoo secretly started raiding high-ranking dungeons without permission, as he was still E-Rank.
During a raid of an A-Rank Dungeon, disguised as a miner, Jinwoo is tasked with mining the magic crystals. Jinwoo tries to sneak into the Dungeonโs boss territory, but is confronted by none other than the Vice-Guild Master of the Hunters Guild, Hae-In. She stops Jinwoo from exploring the dungeon any further and orders him to move back to safety.
What stands out during this interaction is that Hae-In notices that Jinwoo doesnโt smell the same as other Huntersโmost Hunters have a foul odor due to the massive amounts of mana they possess, but Jinwoo smells pleasant.
Cha Hae-Inโs growing curiosity about Jinwoo
Hae-Inโs curiosity about Jinwoo grows after their first encounter. She realizes that, despite being an E-Rank Hunter, Jinwoo smells unusually good, which makes her more curious about Jinwoo. Hae-Inโs rare ability to detect mana makes her especially sensitive to how other Hunters smell, and Jinwooโs fresh scent is a stark contrast to the norm. She begins to investigate his background, only to find that his file has been locked by the Association, which raises even more questions about him.
After being shut down from every available source, Hae-In decides to personally investigate Jinwoo. Upon learning that Jinwoo had entered an A-Rank dungeon again with a few hunters. Hae-In enters the dungeon with a borrowed pickaxe and goes after the strike team, but as soon as she enters senses that the hunters are in trouble due to the amount of magic she senses from the dungeon boss. Later, the association confirmed that the dungeon had been assessed near S-Rank.
Hae-In finally catches up with the team and finds Jinwoo and his shadows overpowering the High Orcs’ army and their leader. She finally witnesses the incredible power, Haein admires his strength, and her feelings toward him evolve into a mixture of respect and attraction.
The Jeju Island Raid: A turning point

The Jeju Island Raid could be considered the key arc when Hae-In developed romantic feelings for Jinwoo. The 4th Jeju Island raid turns terribly wrong for the Korean and Japanese hunters, all due to the sudden emergence of the Ant King. During the raid, many hunters are killed by Ant King, and he almost kills Haein and her team.
While the raid team makes the final stand against the Ant King and his army, Jinwoo suddenly teleports through one of his Shadows he secretly gives to the team. After winning the ferocious battle with Ant King, Jinwoo turns the S-rank healer into a shadow and revives Hae-In, who was almost about to die. Despite her injuries, Hae-In is moved by Jinwooโs intervention and his ability to protect her, further marking the beginning of a deeper bond between the two.
Ahjin Guild Arc: Hae-Inโs confession

Despite a Jeju Island incident, their budding relationship blooms in the later arcs of the Manwha. It isnโt until the Ahjin Guild Arc that Hae-In fully admits her feelings for Jinwoo. After becoming famous worldwide, Jinwoo creates the Ahjin Guild, where Hae-In appears for auditions. Jinwoo tests her by summoning Beru, who almost killed her in the Jeju Raid.
Hae-In doesnโt hesitate to prove herself worthy of joining and goes all out. Jinwoo, noticing her determination, jokes that she might have romantic feelings for him. Hae-In, embarrassed, admits for the first time, โI think so,โ revealing her affection for him.
New life with the Shadow Monarch
In time, Jinwoo warms up to Cha, and their romantic feelings become mutual. In the Monarchs War Arc, the two of them decide to go out on their first date shortly after an S-Rank Gate spawned in Seoul. Both enjoy a lovely evening at an amusement park, then they go for a ride on a dragonโs back, and later end the date gazing at the starry night.
After winning the war, Jinwoo reset the time with the Cup of Reincarnation, he made it his priority to reintroduce himself to Hae-In. From there, their bond would deepen, and they would eventually tie the knot and give birth to their son, named Sung Suho. Since she was revealed to be aware of both his powers and his origins after their marriage, it is also strongly hinted that he returned her memories of the previous timeline.
