Kei Uranaโs Gachiakuta is scheduled to release in July 2025, with animation by Studio Bones, known for My Hero Academia. The story revolves around Rudo, who is wrongly framed for the murder of his uncle and thrown into ‘The Pit,’ inhabited by outcasts and dangerous monsters. Rudo is determined to return to the surface, find the culprit, and prove his innocence.
Gachiakuta anime will be directed by Fumihiko Suganuma, and the broadcasting partners are CBC Television, TBS, and its affiliates. While the manga has revealed that Gachiakuta has an interesting plot, it is the power system in the story that is different from the typical Shonen anime. Gachiakutaโs power system is based on an individualโs thoughts and emotional connection.
More Emotional Attachment Means More Power In Gachiakuta
Gachiakuta has the potential to become one of the biggest releases of 2025. One of the reasons for this is its power system, which does not come genetically, through practice, or from some inside stored energy. Kei Uranaโs magnum opus allows people to use their sentiments to turn any object into a powerful weapon. These weapons are called โVital Instrumentsโ and range from small objects like gloves to large objects like umbrellas.
The sentiments or accumulated emotional energy in Gachiakuta is known as โThought.โ Putting the Thought inside the desired object makes it a weapon. The more the emotional attachment or love towards that object, the stronger the energy transferred, making it a more powerful weapon. People who use Thought are known as Givers, and when Givers pour their energy into specific weapons, their names get etched on those weapons.

How Do Individuals Improve Their Weapon Qualities In Gachiakuta?
Possessing a new sword or a powerful gun does not necessarily mean the individual is strong. Rather, if a person has been carrying the same umbrella for decades and has some kind of deep attachment to it, they can easily turn it into a weapon, stronger than normal firearms. Using the same Vital Instrument for prolonged periods naturally improves the Giverโs connection with it. This, in turn, makes the weapon more seasoned, thus improving its quality.
Awakening a Vital Instrument for the first time will let the Giver know how the weapon can be used and what abilities it possesses. While the Vital Instrument will have the Giverโs name etched on it, it is not permanent. A Giver can cut off its Thought to make the Vital Instrument return to its original self, with no names etched on it. As bizarre and exciting as it sounds, Gachikuta can be quite โThoughtโ provoking.
