The Miracle Begins in Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister Episode 1
Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister episode 1 titled ‘The Miracle Begins‘ follows the story of a 17-year-old high schooler, Uryu Kamihate, whose ultimate goal is to get into Kyoto University’s medical school. Uryu is a freeloader who comes to stay at the Amagami shrine. While looking for the priest, he accidentally walks in on the shrine maidens – Yae, Yuna, and Asahi – changing their clothes. This awkward encounter with the maidens collectively and later individually gets him tagged as a pervert. Well, most of the harem-themed show features the protagonist as a pervert but in a way creates comedic moments rather than malice.

The Amagami sisters are a mixed bag of childish, grumpy, and cute personalities. The eldest daughter, Yae Amagami, is a 20 yr old college student with childish behavior, the second daughter, Yuna Amagami, a 17 yr old high schooler, is the grumpy one, and the youngest daughter, Asahi Amagami, is a 14 yr old middle schooler with a cute little sister vibe.
Uryu is an atheist, who keeps on challenging the Amagami sisters’ belief in god and miracles. And, the continuous banter between a believer and non-believer of god certainly develops into either harsh or deeper connections. In an incident, Yuna, the second daughter, loses her hair-tying thread given by her mother and expects to find it via god’s guidance, to which Uryu starts with the whole miracle bulls**t speech. Probably at this moment, I just want to shut down the foolish comments of Uryu and give him a sturdy grandma beating.
Uryu’s atheist philosophy adoption started after the passing away of his mother in childhood and living life thereafter in an orphanage. Amagami sisters came to know about Uryu’s past from their father and think of him as a kind person.

Finally, toward the end of the episode, all 4 witness the miraculous meteor shower mixed with falling cherry blossoms. And to add on top of it, she gets her hair-tying thread back.
What do you think how Uryu would have reacted to this magical moment? You guessed it right!
At first, he was in awe and the next thing comes out of his mouth is goddamn logic.
End credit rolls with a beautiful theme song – Kimi ni Koi wo Musunde by the voice cast of the three Amagami sisters.
But wait! A little snippet after the ending track reveals the priest’s plans for Uryu’s marriage to one of the Amagami sisters.
