With the JCC Transfer Exam reaching the next phase after a devastating battle on the plane, the fans were introduced to three new characters, who joined the other candidates under Special Recommendation. Out of the three Special Recommendations, one of them is named Shinaya, who is Test Taker 208. From the beginning, he seemed to be an oddball, never speaking a word.
It was later revealed in Sakamoto Days that Shinaya was being remotely controlled by Slur’s right-hand man, Gaku. With a system set up by Kashima, Gaku used VR glasses and hand gear to manipulate Shinaya’s every move. But why was Shinaya chosen as their puppet?
Shinaya’s Struggles and the Trap Set by Kashima and Slur
Shinaya was most likely drugged, and Kashima set up a system through which Gaku would be able to control his body remotely. Shinaya did not even know what was going through his body or what he was made to do during that unconscious state, and for Gaku, the task was a smooth and easy as it could be. Even after the secret came out and Shinaya regained his senses, he felt tremendous pain as he was not accustomed to such rigorous body movements.
Shinaya is a young man with no ties to the assassination world. He had taken student loans to complete his studies and was worried about paying them off. Shinaya was searching for ways to pay off his student loan, and it was at that moment that he met Kashima and Slur. They were looking for recruits, and he accepted their offer without knowing their sinister plot.

Why Shinaya Was the Perfect Pawn for Slur’s Organization
Slur’s organization wanted to infiltrate the JCC to find the database, just like Shin and Sakamoto. While the latter disguised themselves and entered the JCC Transfer Exam, Slur’s Organization did not have that flexibility. For that reason, they hired Shinaya to use his body as the front, while they would control it from the shadows.
No one would doubt Shinaya since he was a new guy and someone who came through Special Recommendation. By completing the exam, he would have gotten into the JCC, and from there, it would have been a cakewalk for the antagonist to fulfill his motives. Also, Gaku was a seasoned assassin, so Shinaya would have no problem fighting the heads of a JCC if things went south.
