2025 began with a galore of anime. With the first month almost over, there seems to be no stopping to the galore. Another name added to 2025’s anime list is Kenta Shinohara’s Witch Watch. The highly anticipated romantic comedy manga is finally getting an anime adaptation. Witch Watch anime was first announced during Jump Festa 2025 in December 2024.
Fans are excited to experience the weird relationship between the two protagonists, Nico Wakatsuki and Morihito Otogi. Amidst all the excitement, the official YouTube channel of Crunchyroll released the trailer of Witch Watch, revealing the characters, art styles, and all the voice actors involved with the project.
What is the story of Witch Watch?
Witch Watch is about Morihito Otogi, who is a descendant of the family of ogres and is quite strong. After his childhood friend, Nico Wakatsuki, completes her training and becomes a full-fledged witch, she chooses Otogi to be her familiar instead of an animal. Otogi’s father tells him to stay with Nico all the time. With Nico having a crush on her familiar, she tries to do everything possible to win him over.
However, Otogi is unfazed by her actions and is focused on keeping her safe from all the dangers, especially from her magical antics getting revealed to the entire world. However, the main reason for him to protect her is because she was prophesized that a disaster would fall upon her within a year.
When will Witch Watch release?
It is scheduled to be released in April 2025. However, the exact release date is yet to be revealed. The episodes will be released every Sunday at 5:00 PM (JST). Witch Watch will be released in two cours, but the number of episodes has not been published. Bibury Animation Studios is in charge of the animation. As confirmed by the official site of Crunchyroll, fans can stream Witch Watch on Crunchyroll after its release.
