The Enchanted Blades of Kagurabachi and Their Legendary Wielders

The Datenseki is the most precious and unique ore found in the world of Kagurabachi, with only 250 kilograms available in the world. It is a powerful substance and has the ability to interact with spirit energy. While it has explosive energy, Kunishige Rokuhiro found a way to stabilize it and created seven Enchanted Blades from it, and can use heightened spirit energy. The swords are imbued with sorcery, making them the strongest of all. Initially, there were six Enchanted Swords, created to end the Seitei War.

There is also a seventh one that was created 15 years after the war ended. An Enchanted Blade binds itself through an Eternal Contract with its true bearer, weakening in power when wielded by anyone else. However, there are a few exceptions to this. Here is a list of all the mentioned Enchanted Blades in Kagurabachi, along with the names of their bearer(s).

1. Enten

• Bearer: Chihiro Rokuhira

Enten is the last Enchanted Blade created by Kunishige Rokuhira after 15 years of the Seitei War. It was kept a secret from the Kamunabi and passed on to Chihiro Rokuhira. Enten is a long and sharp sword with a basic black hilt with diamond shapes created on it. The Sword Guard is somewhat rectangular with the corners bending inwards, giving it the feeling of a circular edge.

Enten has three primary techniques, namely, Kuro, Aka, and Nishiki. Kuro and Nishiki have an extension technique called Kuro: Shred and Nishiki: Support. In Kuro, a black goldfish is summoned that covers the sword and the bearer’s hands in black liquid. Within seconds, it releases a slash, which alters in size based on the goldfish’s size.

In Aka, a red goldfish occurs that absorbs the incoming attacks and returns them to the enemies. In Nishiki, a tri-colored goldfish occurs, covering the sword bearer and amplifying his abilities and body movements by imbuing them with strong spirit energy.

As for Kuro: Shred, instead of a single black goldfish, multiple small goldfish are summoned, leading to simultaneous attacks. Unfortunately, it uses for spirit energy, but puts less risk on the user’s body. Nishiki: Support works best when the user is wounded and is used to relieve the stress on the body, while providing them with significant strength.

2. Cloud Gouger

• Bearer(s): Ibuki Misaka, Genichi Sojo, Chihiro Rokuhira

Clouder Gouger is one of the six Enchanted Blades created by Kunishige Rokuhira to end the Seitei War. It is a beautiful sword with a glazy look, and the sword guard has cloud-like designs. The hilt of the sword has the same diamond shapes, but the cover straps with which it is made are more visible.

The three abilities of the Cloud Gouger are Mei, Yui, and Kou, with the former having two more variants, Cloaked Mei and Mei: Shred. In Mei, a powerful lightning bolt occurs and amplifies the attacks by charging them. If the amplification is high, Mei will not be available for use for 10-20 seconds. However, the time can be reduced based on the user’s compatibility with Cloud Gouger.

Yui creates ice and freezes the target or place towards which the Cloud Gouger is pointing. Kou can be used to generate mist or water, which can then be combined with Mei or Yui to create a devastating charge-up attack or strengthen the freeing ability.

In Cloaked Mei, the user covers themselves in the lightning, granting them the ability to move at great speed, similar to a lightning bolt. Mei: Shred is an ability that was exclusively used by Chihiro Rokuhira, who created black lightning to cover himself and attain great speed and strength.

3. Kumeyuri

• Bearer(s): Yoji Uruha, Hiruhiko

As one of the original six Enchanted Blades, Kumeyuri is a powerful sword that can only be wielded by strong individuals. The straps are visible on Kumeyuri’s hilt, but they are thinner compared to the Cloud Gouger. Its sword guard has an abstract shape, forming an “S”, but not connecting the ends. Instead, there are two extensions from the middle of the rectangular sword guard, attaching themselves to the sword.

Unlike other Enchanted Blades, Kumeyuri only has two abilities – Banquet and Play, with the latter having an extension called Destructive Play. Banquet causes the targets of Kumeyuri to experience hallucinations, making them easy targets. Only fatal wounds or having great auditory skills can help in overcoming the hallucinations.

Through Play, Kumeyuri can control the nearby objects. While respecting the objects can increase the fluidity of Play, it is the opposite in Destructive play. In Destructive Play, the bearer lacks respect for the objects and causes massive destruction by weaponizing them.

4. Tobimune

• Bearer: Seiichi Samura

Tobimune is one of the strongest Enchanted Blades in Kagurachi, having only one bearer since its inception. The sword’s hilt does not have diamond designs, but only the straps. The sword guard is in the shape of a circular “H”, with either side having a couple of wave-like strides, and the entire thing is black in color.

Tobimune has three abilities, namely Crow, Owl, and Suzaku, with External Suzaku being an extension of Suzaku. In Crow, the bearer can swap places with any of the features that Tobimune produces when it is drawn. Owl summons two gigantic eyes in the sky, which heighten the bearer’s senses and allow them to detect anyone with spirit energy. However, based on the area covered, the ability to detect spirit energy also varies.

When Suzaku is activated, it produces flames similar to a phoenix, healing its user or any wounds. The flames can be used to amplify the attacks and can be damaging to the enemies. Through External Suzaku, the bearer heals others rather than injuring them.

5. Magatsumi

• Bearer(s): Master Swordsman, Kyora Sazanami, Yura

The Magatsumi is considered to be the strongest Enchanted Blade among all. It is of the finest quality and is referred to as the “Shinuchi.” Magatsumi’s hilt is mostly made of straps with diamond designs, and the lower portion has a black circle with a connecting thread to the strap. The sword guard is similar to a flower, with the left and right sides having ring-like openings.

Magatsumi has three abilities, Spider, Dragonfly, and Centipede, and an extension based on “True Realm,” known as Malediction. Spider creates cobwebs on the ground, with four sets of spider eyes surrounding it. Anyone who gets caught in the cobweb cannot move. Dragonfly summons several dragonfly-like wings around Magatsumi, expanding the flower fields in the mentioned direction. Centipede covers the bearer with circular structures before launching a devastating, Earth-shattering attack in every direction.

Lastly, Malediction is one of the most overpowered techniques, with Magatsumi combining with the bearer’s determination, causing massive destruction. The Sword Master is the only individual to perform the Malediction through his strong desire to wipe out the islanders. While Kagurabachi has not explored its truest form, it has caused massive destruction and mass murder, with the effects still very much active to the present day.

The last two Enchanted Blades are yet to be revealed in Kagurabachi.
