Rumiko Takahashi’s boy-turn-girl-turn-boy anime ‘Ranma 1/2’ gets 5 new cast members for the characters – Tatewaki Kuno, Kodachi Kuno, Tofu Ono, Mikado Sanzenin and Azusa Shiratori. The announcement was made on the anime’s official website and X(formerly Twitter) account.
Ranma 1/2 Anime Remake Release Date & Advance Screening
As previously announced, the Ranma 1/2 anime remake will be released on October 6, 2024, at 12:55 am JST. However, a free advance screening of 1st episode and a talk show of the anime will be held on October 3 somewhere in Tokyo’s 23 wards. 300 participants will be invited via a lottery system and the exact location of the screening will be provided to the winners. Studio Deen’s anime adaptation aired from Apr 15, 1989, to Sep 25, 1992. MAPPA is animating the anime’s remake which will air from October 6, 2024.
Ranma 1/2 focuses on the martial artists Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo. One day while training in China, Ranma and his father accidentally fall into a cursed spring. Now, Ranma turns into a girl when splashed with water and his father turns into a panda.

Ranma’s father Genma, arranged his marriage with one of the 3 daughters of his best friend Soun Tendo. Soun Tendo runs Tendo Martial Arts School with his daughters and chooses Akane Tendo as Ranma’s to-be wife.
Now, Ranma and Akane attend the same school and confront everyone who questions their relationship.
