New York Comic Con 2024 had everything from signing events to screenings. This year, multiple franchisesโ€™ returns were celebrated, from Bleach to Dragon Ball. Crunchyrollโ€™s involvement was omnipresent with new and exciting announcements of anime adaptations making their debut at the event and fans could not get enough of it!

Crunchyroll Debuts an Anime Adaptation of Go For It, Nakamura-kun!

Go For It, Nakamura-kun! By Syundei is a Boys-Love manga that was serialized from Dec. 2014 to Aug. 2016 on Opera Magazine. The tale about the timid Okuto Nakamura is scheduled to receive an anime adaptation, which was announced by Crunchyrollโ€™s Industry Panel at NYCC 2024. The anime will begin airing in January 2025 by Studio Drive.

Hiro Mashima – Creator of Fairy Tailโ€™s Appearance at New York Comic Con 2024

Attendees of New York Comic Con 2024 had the privilege to witness the esteemed Hiro Mashima – the creator of highly-coveted shows like Fairy Tail and Edenโ€™s Zero. The 47-year-old Shonen manga artist blessed fans with his presence at the event in a fan signing corner. Fans revealed that he was encouraging and considered it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet him through NYCC.

Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Arc Screening at New York Comic Con 2024

Licensors of Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Disturbance blessed fans with the English Dubbed version of the show. Screening of the first two episodes was announced at NYCC 2024 and fans of the show were delighted. Alongside this, voice actors of Kenshin Himura and Kaoru Kamiya were special guests during the event.

Behind The Scenes of Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance 

With the latest season of Gundam airing this season, NYCC decided to host a panel that was anchored by the team behind this franchise. New announcements regarding the cast members were provided for the show that airs on Netflix. Besides this, the Gundam Card Game exhibit was also held, making New York Comic Con 2024 a haven for fans of the evergreen franchise.

Crunchyroll Introduces MAPPAโ€™S ZENSHU at NYCC 2024

Studio MAPPA is considered a juggernaut in the industry of anime. With close to 100 titles to their name, they are responsible for beautifully illustrated shows like Jujutsu Kaisen and Attack On Titan. Making their appearance on NYCC 2024, Crunchyroll announced ZENSHU, an Anime original show created by MAPPA. The show is scheduled to be released in January 2025, as announced by the Industry Panel at the event.

The Cast of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Fansigning

Iconic voice actors Masakazu Morita and Noriaki Sugiyama, who voiced Ichigo Kurosaki and Urya Ishida consecutively, made an appearance at New York Comic Con 2024. As a part of the VIZ Industry Panel, Morita and Sugiyama hosted a panel regarding the latest season of Tite Kuboโ€™s established manga series and were also present at the fan signing event.

The Beginning After the End Teaser Screening at NYCC 2024

TurtleMeโ€™s The Beginning After the End is a much-anticipated anime adaptation. Among Crunchyrollโ€™s exciting announcements, this was one of them. Adapting from a highly praised Web Comic, Studio A-CAT bears the duties for its production. A teaser for the upcoming show was previewed on NYCC 2024, and the release date was announced to be January of 2025.

Inside Dragon Ball DAIMA – Panel at NYCC 2024

Executive Producer of the franchise Akio Iyoku shared insights on the Dragon Ball Daimaโ€™s production. From announcements of the North American Tour to English Dub voice actors, this panel unveiled a lot of details for the show moving forward. Monica Rial, who was also present at the event, is said to be the voice actor of Bulma.



Crunchyroll Announces OKITSURA Anime Adaptation

The Anime adaptation for OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What Sheโ€™s Saying by Egumi Sora was revealed at NYCC 2024. As the name suggests, this wholesome story about a cross-cultural dynamic between two lovable characters gets an anime, which will begin its airtime in January 2025.

The Final Season of Dr. Stone is Here!

The Crunchyroll Industry Panel also announced the last season of Dr. Stone. A trailer for Dr. Stone: Science Future was previewed at NYCC 2024, produced by TMS Entertainment. This sixth installation of Riichiro Inagakiโ€™s franchise meets its end on January 2025, with Senku closing his chapter on creating a new civilization with his unique ground-up inventions.
