One Piece Chapter 1172, titled The Elbaph I Admired, is a lore-heavy chapter bringing in large-scale developments, reshaping Elbaph’s future. From the Straw Hats being active in battles, children being kidnapped, and the Owl Library in flames to the truth of Loki’s past, this chapter moves closer to providing a closure to all these chapters. With Imu, Gunko, and other high-level threats listening in, One Piece Chapter 1172 sets the stage for an unavoidable war, ending on a chilling note as Zoro calmly declares that he already has a plan.
Chaos Across Elbaph: Straw Hats Split and the Island Burns
The chapter opens with Hajrudin’s group riding an elevator toward the Sun World, where Gaban provides them with input on the enemy forces and their abilities. When they arrive, they find Kashi injured, who explains the chaos that is going on around Elbaph, which gets the Straw Hats and the New Giant Warrior Pirates to split and strategically tackle each place.
The team splits, with Zoro and Hajrudin heading to help Jarul, while Sanji heads to the school and library to rescue Nami and Robin and stop the spreading fire. The scene then moves into the Owl Library, showing Nami, Robin, Chopper, and Jinbe remaining trapped by Gunko’s arrows.

Jarul’s Declaration and the Giants’ Rebellion
In the Western Village, the giants urge Jarul to flee, but he refuses. Instead, he uses a Den Den Mushi to address all of Elbaph. Jarul reveals the truth behind what happened to King Harald and openly declares Loki’s innocence, reframing years of manipulated history. He then speaks of the “devils” who attempted to conquer Elbaph 14 years ago, making it clear that those same forces have returned.
The scene moves to a double page, showing Imu as Gunko taking control over all the Domi-reversed giants, Killingham controlling the MMA forces, and Sommers calmly listening to Jarul’s words. While Jarul states that Elbaph is willing to give up its culture to save its children, they are never going to surrender to anyone’s will.
We also see Jarul openly declaring the World Government as Elbaph’s enemy, marking a historic turning point. We also see a panel with Usopp having an unrestrained excitement, calling this the Elbaph he always admired. The shot moves to giants roaring in agreement, backing Jarul’s resolve
This chapter closes out by showing Dorry, Brogy, and the Domi-reversed giants entering the Western Village, with Zoro and Hajrudin hightailing behind them. With battle imminent, Zoro calmly says he has a plan.
