Finally, the Sakamoto Days team gave some thought to the annoying textured filter used in Part 1, and now we have a trailer that ditches it in favor of a proper cinematic look.

On May 14, 2025, TMS Entertainment released the Sakamoto Days Part 2 main trailer, showcasing our protagonist team, the Order members, death row prisoners, and X/Slur in action. Alongside the Part 2 PV release, they also revealed a July 2025 premiere date and the opening theme song ‘Method’ by Kroi. Moreover, a talk show with the cast and an advanced screening of episodes 12 and 13 will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 13:00 JST at TOHO Cinemas, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan.

Visit the official website for advance screening tickets if you happen to be in Tokyo around that time.

What to expect from Sakamoto Days Part 2?

Sakamoto Days Season 1 Part 1 covered the initial two arcs of the manga, namely, the Amusement Park arc and the Lab arc. The finale episode of Part 1 introduced death row prisoners – Minimalist, Apart, Dump, and Saw. Part 2 will continue from the death row prisoners arc and may likely touch the JCC transfer exams arc.

Taro Sakamoto and the team are a great hindrance to X/Slur’s plan. He helps death row prisoners get out of prison and hires them to assassinate the protagonist and the team. What is clearly visible from a shot in the trailer is that one of the prisoners, Minimalist, grabs Aoi by the neck and lifts her from the ground. I don’t know how the series is going to pan out, but I am expecting a Nanami punching Haruta Shigemo moment from the Shibuya incident in Jujutsu Kaisen.

We also get a glimpse of the ORDER members – Nagumo, Shishiba, Osaragi, Hyo, and Takamura – showcasing their deadly assassination skills. And to top it off, the highly anticipated boss battle between Taro Sakamoto and X/Slur.
