After the first season was showered with praise for its beautiful adaptation, fans anticipated a second installation, which is scheduled to be released in Winter 2025. What is The Apothecary Diaries all about?
The Apothecary Diaries Season 1 follows Maomao, the daughter of an apothecary who lives a humble life until she is forced into labor at an imperial palace.
Unlike the other servants, Maomao possessed extensive knowledge of medicine due to her apothecary background. This caught the eye of the head eunuch Jinshi, who appointed her as the lady-in-waiting as a poisoned food tester for one of the Emperorโs consort.
Being the servant of the consort, Maomao gets insights into the happenings in the rear palace. She alongside Jinshi takes it upon themselves to solve the medical mysteries that take place.

The Apothecary Diaries Season 2 is scheduled to release on Jan. 10, 2025. The teamโs official social media account announced that the show will have 2 cours, alongside teasing fans with a beautiful visual of the upcoming installation. The show will be streamed worldwide on Crunchyroll.
