To Be Hero X is one of the most talked-about anime of 2025. Coming from the creator of Link Click, To Be Hero X has a unique plot where heroes are made through trust, while villains are created through fear. If people believe that a certain individual can fly, that individual will develop the ability to fly.
Like any other anime, To Be Hero X also has heroes and villains. More than the villains, the hero system follows an interesting ranking system. As the name suggests, the top-ranking hero gets the title of Hero X, with the top 10 heroes getting a chance to win that title every three years through a battle royale. 10. Nice
- Voice Actor: Natsuki Hanae
Nice is the 10th Hero and one of the most handsome-looking heroes in the To Be Hero X anime. While people imagine him to be the perfect hero and make his rise to the ranks through the Trust Value System, the character hides one of the darkest secrets. The person embodying Nice’s personality and face is actually Lin Ling, who witnessed Nice’s suicide. To cover it up, Nice’s Hero Organization, Treeman, used Lin Ling to take up the empty position. Since people trusted him as Nice, he gained all the abilities that Nice had.
9. E-Soul
- Voice Actor: Nobunaga Shimazaki
E-Soul resembles a blue cyborg who dons armour in shades of blue, black, and gold. The Hero specializes in slaying enemies through his lightning speed. Underneath the armour is a man with a missing limb that is replaced by a prosthetic hand. While lightning seems to be the reason behind the hero’s abilities, the name of the ability is electrokinesis.
There were two E-Souls, one was the original, and the other was an E-Soul actor who was bestowed with lightning speed upon gaining his first follower. The latter was Yang Cheng, who was manipulated into being E-Soul and had to fight the original one. He was saved by the hero during his childhood, but had to face him to determine the real E-Soul out of the two duo to a dark scheme behind the scenes.
8. Ahu
- Voice Actor: Koichi Yamadera
Ahu is the only animal to earn a place in the top 10 heroes in To Be Hero X. The character belongs to a young hospitalized girl, with him being pretty loyal to the girl. Ahu has the ability to shapeshift and use different abilities accordingly. He can turn into a Samurai Dog and wield katanas to fight enemies. While Ahu’s breed remains unknown, the dog wears a hat and a pink tie that is longer than his neck.
7. Lucky Cyan
- Voice Actor: Inori Minase
Lucky Cyan is a blue-haired singer, and her powers seem tied to her fandom, which fuels her ability to manifest a bow that fires light arrows or illuminates the sky. Her character trailer hints at a tragic past involving a brown-haired boy and suggests a perspective towards the dark side of the Hero Culture. An impactful scene shows her crying, as a businesswoman from DOS approaches, hinting at emotional struggles beneath the fame. Lucky Cyan wears a white outfit with blue leggings and a four-leaf clover on her chest, symbolizing fragile hope.
6. Loli
- Voice Actor: Ayane Sakura
Loli is a young, confident hero who blends charm with combat skills. She pilots a giant mecha and wears a gadget-filled battle suit, including a visor that displays digital emoticons. Her engineering talents are evident, with her character trailer showcasing that her gear is self-made. Though her exact powers remain unknown, she likely draws strength from the trust of her fans. Loli maintains a bold person, both in and out of costume, embracing her youthful appearance while proving her strength.

The Johnnies are a hero duo made up of little Johnny, a laid-back boy with orange hair and red cheek streaks, and Big Johnny, a small furry creature that transforms into a horned beast when enraged. Little Johnny’s power, Zoolingualism, allows him to communicate with and control animals. The pair embraces their mascot-like appeal, often seen with plushies and merchandise. However, Little Johnny’s cheerful demeanor hides a tragic past tied to his ailing mother. His character hints at deeper emotional layers beneath the cuteness.
4. Ghostblade

Ghostblade is a white-haired, emotionless hero known for his silent efficiency. Traumatized by a childhood incident, he lost the ability to feel emotions, unable to laugh or cry. Now, he carries out missions with deadly precision and no words. His power lies in his masterful swordsmanship, showcased in the character trailers where he effortlessly defeats villains. His cold demeanor masks deep pain, adding depth to his stoic personality.
3. Dragon Boy

The 3rd Hero in To Be Hero X is a spiky purple-haired hero with white tattoos and a bold purple look, complete with a Hawaiian shirt, cargo pants, and no shoes. His immense strength lets him punch enemies through walls, and he can launch himself forward using only his legs. His reckless fighting style is his most striking feature. Dragon Boy smiles through pain, showing no concern for self-preservation, with his raw power and fearless nature making him a standout.

Queen is a striking hero with long white-braided hair and a regal gold theme, seen in her gauntlets, weaponry, and a crown, that transforms into a mask. Though not the No. 1 Hero, she carries herself with authority, believing she sets the rules. Her powers let he manipulate golden armour and summon spears, including one that fires a devastating beam of golden light. Queen’s combat prowess and commanding presence are showcased in her trailer, highlighting why she is so admired and influential. Her unwavering sense of justice, combined with elegance and power, makes her a standout figure in the hero world.

Hero X is a slick, white-suited hero with red cuffs, square glasses, and a metal “X” on his tie. Exuding unmatched swagger, he easily defeats enemies in his character trailer. He hides his true identity as a mild-mannered, black-haired man with glasses. Hero X possesses reality-warping powers, allowing him to shift animation styles, teleport, conjure objects from imagination, and unleash devastating shockwaves with a snap. Dubbed “limitless,” his strength is unmatched, yet the origin of his power, though Trust Value remains a mystery. As the series’ most enigmatic figure, his true motives are still not clear.
