Yuto Suzuki’s Sakamoto Days has not only found a great protagonist in Taro Sakamoto but also an exciting antagonist in Slur. While both excel in assassinations, they cannot accomplish the task of carrying out the plot. For that particular reason, they have a set of characters who are either a part of their organization, an admirer, or a relative.
While Taro Sakamoto has the likes of Shin Asakura, Yoichi Nagumo, Lu Xiaotang, etc., Slur has Gaku. While the name might feel new to the anime watchers, the manga readers know how capable Slur’s right-hand man is when it comes to executing his plans. Gaku was introduced in Sakamoto Days Season 1 Part 2 Episode 4, widening the perspective of the show.
Gaku’s Origin
Gaku was originally a part of Al-Kamar Orphanage, which was a failed initiative to create ORDER members. When he was just 13 years old, Gaku ran away from the orphanage and became the youngest member of Slur’s organization. He has a tall and muscular physique with greyish-blue hair, pink eyes, and red eyeliner on the outer corners.
His name in Japanese means “easy/comfort,” and similarly, he has a laid-back personality, remaining calm and composed even in dire situations. Gaku is a massive fan of video games, especially Resident Evil, and sees the battlefield as one of his video games. He is extremely loyal to Slur and Kumanomi, who were also a part of Al-Kamar Orphanage.
What Abilities Do Gaku Possess?
Gaku, being the right-hand man of Slur, is quite a skilful fighter/assassin. He is efficient in what he does, and when the situation calls for it, he can be deadly as well. Having been raised at Al-Kamar for the purpose of becoming an assassin, he started training from a young age, making him strong and earning a high position at Slur’s organization. He is a master combatant, having specialized in using his mace with proficiency and performing one-inch punches.
Gaku’s abilities made Nagumo mention that he is the strongest the latter has ever faced. During battles, Gaku has showcased increased speed, better endurance and durability, and greater strength than most other characters. He can fight for elongated periods without showcasing signs of weakness. Apart from having monstrous strength, Gaku’s mace-like weapon can also shoot laser beams from its tip, making him deadly from long range as well.
