Sakamoto Days was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump by Shueisha in November 2020. The manga has 189 chapters to date and is continuing. The narrative is centered around Taro Sakamoto, a retired assassin. Split Cour format of Sakamoto Days
Sakamoto Days’ debut season will consist of two parts. With part 1 being premiered in the Winter schedule of 2025, part 2 is set to be aired during the Summer schedule of 2025. Both parts will be streamed on a weekly basis on Netflix.
Opening Theme song of Sakamoto Days
Sakamoto Days will have its opening theme song “Run Sakamoto Run” performed by Vaundy. The artist is known for hits such as “Chainsaw Blood” for Chainsaw Man.
I wrote the opening theme of SAKAMOTO DAYS, “RUN SAKAMOTO RUN”.
I’ve loved the manga, and found myself completely absorbed by the powerful artwork, the storytelling, and that addictive contrast between everyday life and deadly battles. I’m incredibly honored and excited to be entrusted with the opening theme for this beloved series’ first anime adaptation.
When I wrote “RUN SAKAMOTO RUN”, I aimed to convey the inspirational protagonist Sakamoto’s overwhelming, unmatched strength. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to record the song in London, which gave it a unique sound, making it a piece I can truly say I gave my all to.
I hope the song ‘runs’ together with the manga, anime, and all of you guys!
